David Okonkwo

David Okonkwo

Orthotics & Biomechanics Specialist

David is a specialist in orthotics and biomechanical assessment, combining his podiatric training with advanced movement analysis to treat the root causes of musculoskeletal pain. He graduated from the University of East London with a BSc in Podiatry and completed his MSc in Biomechanics at the University of Roehampton, where his research focused on the relationship between gait asymmetry and lower limb overuse injuries.

David has over nine years of clinical experience, having worked in NHS podiatry services, sports biomechanics laboratories, and private orthotics clinics. He uses video gait analysis, pressure plate technology, and detailed clinical examination to design custom orthotic devices that correct biomechanical imbalances and improve movement efficiency from the ground up.

David's approach is methodical and thorough — he takes the time to understand how each patient moves, identifying subtle compensatory patterns that may be contributing to pain further up the kinetic chain. Whether treating a competitive runner with recurring shin splints or an office worker with chronic lower back pain, David designs orthotic and gait retraining programmes that deliver lasting functional improvement.
